Google Allo Passes 10million Downloads after 3 months on Playstore

I really want to believe this was not Google’s plan from the very beginning. The snail-like movement of the number of downloads of the popular Google Allo messaging app has been somewhat frustrating to say the least.

With the pool of resources at the disposal of big daddy Google, one begin to wonder, and cannot fathom why they are not already struggling shoulder to shoulder with whatsapp, Facebook and other messaging applications.
According to the most recent report, Google Allo just passed 10 million downloads on the playstore. Very poor Google, I must say.

Allo
The Google Allo, an instant messaging mobile app developed by Google that includes a virtual assistant and provides a “smart reply” function that allows users to reply without typing has now garnered more than ten million downloads on android alone. It was announced at Google I/O on May 18, 2016 and launched on September 21, 2016. The app is available on Android and iOS.
As at the ending period of the month of September, this app was on five million downloads, but has decided to double its figures after a very long two years. The uncompromising dominance of whatsapp and Facebook is not doing the Google app any good as they are really killing their customer base whether knowingly or unknowingly.
Need I also mention that whatsapp and Facebook both has garnered over a billion and a little less than a billion downloads respectively. I, for one do not know what exactly is the magic Google wants to perform to attain that feat anytime soon.
Not forgetting the fact that whatsapp is adding new features on a regular basis, e. g group mention, video calls and so on. Its like they sense something that might be interested in posing a threat so they’re preparing against the rainy days – good concept whatsapp.
Do you forsee Allo taking over the market soon enough?
