Glo Puts an End to Blackberry Internet Service (B.I.S)

After saving a lot of Nigerian from being drowned by the flood of high data prices, “the grandmasters of data” has hit us with one unexpected and very sad news. Yes, you guessed right. They would no more be the “grandmasters of data” as they have chosen to break the hearts of blackberry users and a lot of android users who tweaked their android IMEI just to use a blackberry plan.

Globacom has said that it would be discontinuing its Blackberry internet services (B.I.S). In very simple terms, all those 3gb for N1000 comes to an end as from December 17th. Feel free to read the heartbreaking message below;
Glo CEO, Mike Adenuga
Dear Customer, starting December 17, 2016 BlackBerry services on your device (BBOS7 devices) will no longer be available. You can still continue to use the device to Call and Text. We request you to migrate to a BB10, Android, Windows or IOS handset to use your remaining data.
The part where they opined that we can “continue to use the device to call and text” really cracked me up. Are we, or sorry, they supposed to throw away their device because it no longer supports B.I.S? Some could do it though.
Well, so you’ve heard. This then translates that the following plans would not be available any longer;
BlackBerry Complete weekly plan
• BlackBerry Complete monthly plan
• BlackBerry Absolute weekly plan
• BlackBerry Absolute monthly plan
• BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)
• BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES)
It is seeming obvious now that those dates plans never played Globacom in any way. Maybe it was just a ploy all along to draw over customers in that regard so they can earn the right to label themselves the “the grandmasters of data” as they already did.
So, if you still have your Bold, curve or storm, I’ll give you a free advice. Get rid of it as soon as you can while people might still be willing to pay one or two thousand naira for it, because I have a dream, that one day, BLACKBERRY PHONES WOULD BE DASHED OUT FOR FREE.
So why not let me know how angry you are with Globacom right now…
